Best Festival in portugal

B	Bruce Jones on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic medieval style annual festival with themed shows & street entertainment telling particular story from past. Market stalls and food. Focus is on impressive historic castle and town of Silves, with scheduled daily programme from 6pm to 1am during festival. Good value for money. Well worth a visit, but its a steep walk, narrow closed off cobbled streets, large crowds. Not recommended for pushing wheelchairs or even mobility scooters - maybe visit Silves when festival is not on, and drive / taxi up to castle when streets are open & accessible to vehicles?
D	Dave Goodwin on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Queuing for 35 minutes to get in on Wednesday. COME ON, ORGANISERS, you are paid to make this a nice event. There were old and disabled people standing for 30 minutes or more, tired kids waiting, unhappy people. Horrible and unnecessary. The queue went all the way down the hill. ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS HAVE ENOUGH TICKET COLLECTORS. Thats not much to organise, and you have all year to prepare. 30-40 minutes standing in a queue could have been 30 minutes spending money in your event. Instead people finally go in tired and disappointed, some were angry too. Sort it out for next year.

There are some extra paid events which are really worth it! Food is amanzingly good and fair priced. All staff involved is very friendly and helpful! I would advise everyone staying close by to come and enjoy!!

It is such a cool vibe, all the lights, the music, the people in their fancy outfits, the stalls and the food, gives a really good atmosphere. My request for the next year, is that; I wish to see some vegetarian and vegan food available ??
S	Serhat Güler on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an amazing experience! we found out about this festival by coincidence and decided to spend an evening there, it turned out to be an amazing experience. It is basically a medieval festival related to the Muslim caliphate and the vikings. There is a show called "war games" and another called "the voyage". Both were just great. Would definitely recommend that you buy the tickets for all the shows including access to the festival area., If we knew about the festival and that we could rent some costumes before hand, we would defo have done that. it takes place on a mediavel city called Silves. Thank you so much for such a great experience Silves!
