★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Squeaky and flimsy beds, they don't seem to have double beds, it's just two single beds pushed together and it's barely possible to connect to the wifi network! But by far the main issue is the extremely noisy air duct straight in the room.
Management knows about this issue but doesn't care. They proposed to move us to a different room apparently less affected but when it was time to change room, the manager was gone and they said "we can't do anything now, we can check tomorrow"...
Overall the value proposition made by this hotel is not worth it at all; would the room be 40€ I would say it's an okay deal! It was by far the worst 4* or 3* hotel we had in Portugal in term of room quality and beds!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely hotel, beautiful situated just inside the old city walls. Room and badroom were very spacious, comfortable and clean. Lovely view on the pool, the garden and the city wall. I want to thank the hotel staff for the warm welcome and the cleanness and the care the room had been prepared with. The underground parking was very usefull. We appreciated the covid-safety measures the hotel applies. We felt safe and welcome and we will be happy to come back to this hotel.

However my experience was not positive...
On the chosen weekend (1st of September) the hotel was full of families with many children, which invalidated the silence and, the pool area was impossible to relax! The pool is to small to a fully Hotel.
Furthermore, on Saturday afternoon there was a wedding at the Hotel, and there was no prior notice to the guests (or at least not to me...) The music started in the afternoon and continued until almost 01am.
Even calling the Reception questioning and complaining about the situation, nothing was done.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unpleasant. Make sure to ask if any weddings planned on the day you are staying.
We have a baby and the staff gave us a room right above a wedding that was taking place that day on the hotel. You can imagine the noise... We were told on the next morning that the person in charge for the Reception was not available but we would be given a voucher as an apology, This never happened as they never contacted us to provide such promise. Such a shame.

Convenient private garage since it is extremely difficult to find a free Public parking spot many of which you need a permit.
Ample rooms with great views, no gym but a swimming pool next to the muralha.
All employees provide a good service.
