B	Brian Lupkes on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful apartment style hotel on a golf course. Only minutes away from the ocean. Aren't many amenities on location. You will have to drive 15+ minutes to get to restaurants. Rooms include a kitchen with a stove and refrigerator and dishwasher. Rooms are two levels with the kitchen living room and balcony upstairs, bathroom and bedroom downstairs. Bathroom has a large soaking tub and a separate shower.

For instance, there is a good size kitchen with a dishwasher, but very few plates, cutlery, pots and pans to cook with. So the dishwasher is of o use really. In the evening the tenants are supposed to use the lift to reach the first floor, but the sign to tell them that is when they have already climbed the stairs and get to a locked door. There is a person sitting behind the receptio desk, but this person only points to the sign and will not open the door. There is rubbish everywhere on the resort, plastics bottles, discarded cigarette packs etc. The rubbish bins are overflowing, and there's ruish all over the floor. Reception blames dogs (that are nowhere to be seen!). Overall slack management.

I was pleasantly surprised by the service we received by the staff, they were very welcoming and accommodating. The 'Apartment' we were assigned was a 3 story house! Very clean and comfortable. it had pretty much everything you needed and more! the resort was really nice and there is a shuttle service which is free that takes you back forth from the residence and the restaurant. If I were to pick out a negative it would be that there is not much else in the resort in terms of shops and restaurant choices. Because of where it's located (in the middle of no where) we only had one restaurant and a small grocery store which was fairly expensive. We had to pay for a cab in order to go to the nearest store which was Lidl.

We'd have given it a four or even five, but the young woman in the pro shop was incredibly rude. No smile, no welcome despite our efforts to engage and chat. We dropped a club head on the course and they made it like we had personally offended them. It showed up with the next foursome came off, but we were totally bewildered by their response and treatment of us. We will go back to Portugal to golf, but we will NOT golf here. We also golfed the Pinta (same management group) and that was lovely and the staff were fantastic.

After some initial difficulty finding out where to check in, we were shuttled to the villa and dropped off. The accommodation itself is very large, with four big double bedrooms (two ensuite). The kitchen, living room areas were clean and spacious and everything you would have needed was there. In terms of cleanliness, it could have been a little bit better, but no real issues. It would have been nice to have some more towels available for a three night stay, but I expect if we phoned reception they may have had someone deliver them. Lovely pool area out the back which was clean and well maintained. We had nice weather so we're able to make the most of it. All in all, I would recommend this option (we paid 50pp more for the upgrade from an apartment). Enjoyed the experience and place was great.
