★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting building with free entry but the exhibition needs a bit of work as it looks a bit all over the place with items displayed in apparently no particular order.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were just wandering around the city when we came across this building. One staff member was very friendly and invited us in. The building was a prison in the past, and now holds photograph exhibitions. They were all very well curated and organized. Unfortunately I didn't have time to visit the library. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What about a museum in an ancient jail? A place where people where prisoned now it’s a space to let your mind free with culture .. sounds magic! The structure is from the 1767 and now is really well renovated, with a permanent show about old cameras and their stories ( a bit boring ) and some really great temporary photo exhibitions. TOTALLY FREE! Go there ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The artwork itself is excellent, but the real gem of this museum is the SHOCKING collection of cameras upstairs. If you’re into photography, it’s a camera nerd dream! And all of this for zero money? I suspect it might not always be free to enter but… it was an amazing way to spend a rainy afternoon in Porto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great museum. All the time people playing music with great acoustic. Love the feeling of an old prison. And the best of it no line what's weird in Porto and it's free ? free toilets and good mobility for people in wheelchairs.
