★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You basically pay for the location and views. Rooms are okay-ish. Very basic and comparable with a Ibis hotel. It had a (dirty) fridge, but a water cooker would have been nice.
The staff unfortunatly was far from 5 star hotel service, except for the older man of the reception. With other staff members, it felt like any question was more of a burden to them.
Welcome was a bit stiff. My girlfriend and I are on the younger side of the hotels’ segment, and only once we made clear that we are definitely not the party youngsters, it started loosening up.
As we were a bit early, we dropped our luggage and went to the beach. After coming back from the beach, we wanted to enter the hotel from the beach entrance. The security guy was for some reason very on edge with us (I know it’s his job, and it is good to know the the perimeter is looked after well, but it wasn’t in a very welcoming way), and escorted us to the reception without saying any word or having some welcoming smalltalk (like a simple “how was your trip”). He only left our side when we talked with the receptionist.
After checking in at 4pm, where we had to pay 100 euros deposit PER PERSON (barely experienced hotels doing this, only appartments), we went to our room (2 hours after check in opened), and discovered that our room was still being cleaned (if we would’ve checked in at 2 or 3pm, we would’ve arrived in a dirty room?). Luckily the friendly receptionist apologized to us, and offered us drinks on the house.
My girlfriend and I both chose a cocktail, but apparently, it wasn’t stated on the menu that my girlfriend’s cocktail contained whipped cream. My girlfriend can’t eat dairy products, but the bartenders response when we tried to stop him from putting the cream in the shaker was simply “it’s already in there”... My girlfriend and I ended up switching cocktails. The next few days the bartender was very friendly, but this was a bit weird.
I tried to arrange transportation to the airport at the reception, but the women at the reception seemed far from keen to try her best to help a guest. Already when approaching, she gave off the vibe that she wasn’t in the mood to answer questions. As I am traveling with a surfboard bag, I always arrange a taxi van where it fits inside. This always goes well. Apparently, the taxi company that the hotel is working together refused. This of course can happen. But the lady at the reception didn’t do anything to help us find an alternative. Just “we only work with one company” and that was it. It literary took me a 1 minute google search and a 2 minute phone call to arrange something myself...
When checking out, we weren’t even asked how our stay was. Just giving the keys and receiving the deposit back. Nice way of hoping for guests to return...
However, I do want to take a moment to thank the friendly receptionist man. He did go out of his way for me to arrange a Corona test at a nearby pharmacy for my return flight, after I wasn’t able to book through the website of the lab with whom the hotel has a deal. He also was the one who made it up for the messy check in by offering us some drinks. He was always answering any question with a smile and made some funny jokes when I accidentally locked myself out. Thank you very much!! You were amazing!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This hotel is far away from being a 4 star hotel, I would say it is more likely to be 1 or 2 stars.
Let’s start with the check in, bureaucratic system in place, you have to feel some many declaration form before check in, this forms should have been prepared way ahead of our check in. The hotel will charge you €300 for deposit (€150 person). The reception area is not welcoming at all, very old and dated furniture. The receptionists are lovely, both ladies are helpful and very welcoming.
Moving to the bedroom, an absolutely joke! My room had a funny smell that I couldn’t workout what was it. The furnitures are so old that there was one of those old radios fitted in the bedside. The balcony furniture looks like they picked up a table and couple of chairs from one of the bars. Also if you are seating on the chair you won’t be able to see the sea as the chair is way too low, clearly they haven’t put any effort in making this more suitable to their guests.
The shower gel in the bedroom, they claimed to be Ritual, I am a big fan of Ritual and I have used almost all of their ranges, I can tell you that those toiletries are not from Ritual, I might be wrong, but I will definitely check that direct with Ritual.
Breakfast, LOL…a 4 Star hotel offering squash as orange juice to their guests. Very LOW quality of cheese and ham (and I mean very low). The buffet is the worse quality you can possibly expect apart of the eggs. The breads are not fresh and you can tell by the look of it. The staff are not cool, they don’t welcome you, they don’t say good morning, they are loud, far too unprofessional, have personal conversations in front of the guests and sometimes even arguing with each other. I disliked everything about the breakfast.
The poll are is cool, the bar staff is nice and polite. Their is so much that could do to improve around the poll area and to make it more warm and welcoming, first of all things clean those glasses around the poll, second have some relaxing music playing at the poll area and finally why on earth would you charge €30 deposit per towel to use on your poll? I DON’T GET IT! Again this was supposed to be a 4 stars hotel.
Also the food available in the poll and as room service is disgusting, we ordered 2 chicken burger from their menu and it was absolutely disgusting. The burger was one of those flat processed fake chicken instead of an actual chicken breast, the fries were from frozen pack, the bun was something from 4 days ago which was let to dry before they used. Once again the quality was absolutely gross.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely no. Would I recommend the hotel? Absolutely no.
I totally dislike everything about this “4 stars Hotel”. Don’t claim to be something that you are clearly far from being, you should claim to be 1 to maximum 2 stars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Why was it great? The weather, the company and the location made it great. We have recently returned from 10 days at the Rocamar. Our best friends came with us. My hubby and I paid an extra £200 for a sea view which had the balcony had a glass wall instead of solid brick would have been great. Yes we had a beautiful view but had to stand up to appreciate it. The large advertising screen flashed all night long which without blackout curtains would have been unbearable. Our friends didn’t pay the extra and their balcony view was a derelict building on the street.
The staff from day one were not friendly at all (except the cleaner she was lovely). They didn’t greet you, smile or engage at any time.
The pool was small but perfect on a hot day but not once was the glass wall cleaned during our stay making the view cloudy.
The breakfast was simply ok. The orange juice was in fact orange cordial and once again miserable looking staff!
We chose to eat in the square most mornings.
We needed a taxi one day and asked reception to ring one for us for which we was charged 50c which we have never experienced before.
Overall the cleanliness of the hotel was fantastic, the cleaners do a wonderful job and the location is perfect. But 4 star? Not in our opinion. Had the holiday been at least £500 cheaper than what we paid then I wouldn’t complain but paying over £2000 it was too pricey.
If a Manager was to see this review then please have a word with your staff, teach them to greet and smile at guests at the very least!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice Hotel, in a good spot. Some of the staff didn't seem very happy most of the time. Great breakfast, rooms cleaned and fresh towels added every day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Functional hotel in a great location overlooking the beach. Rooms on the basic side with a good breakfast option. That said it's good value at the price point.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pros:
A wonderful hotel in the perfect location. The room we had was overlooking the beach and it was clean and spacious with a good shower. It’s very quiet and relaxing. Nice pool area to relax on those days where you need to recharge. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons:
Coffee at the breakfast is terrible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location. Rooms serviced every day. Breakfast was fine, good choice and decaffeinated coffee. Staff not very friendly, generally. Unfortunately the window to our room opened onto the pool deck, so view limited and people using sunbeds were literally inches away from us: not great when they were smoking and smoke drifted into our room. We asked about moving room but was told it would cost extra. We were also charged €200 deposit for 2 people( not informed when booking), which I noted not all customers were charged . Perhaps it's a British thing? I would be interested to know.
