★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice room, with a beautiful view. We stayed 3 nights
But when we came there, the check in was at a complete other building nearby. When we entered the room there was a very bad smell in there, it came from the bathroom.
And on the "fresh towels" where big yellow spots...very nasty. We kindly asked if they could fix this. But that never happend, we also made a complaint to the owner but i never got a reply! Unbelievable! They just ignore you.
Also we did not get new toilet paper and towels.
Its such a shame becouse it could be a great product.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nightmare. Booking never said I was sharing a bathroom..dont let the photos fool you.
I arrived after 20 hours of flying to find out the reception is on a completely different block...and not open for two hours.
The reception is not even on Google maps, and I had to stand in the sun with two heavy bags until I found a cleaner to help me. She didn't even know the address. I didn't have a sim yet.
No light in the hallway...and steps I tripped on every time I came home. You have to be super quite because you are sharing a floor with 8 other tiny rooms. Noisy by design with antique doors opening and closing all night.
Rooms were clean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Could be very cute but a bit too shabby chic . This is great for young people, affordable, clean and good location. The staff are extremely nice . The photos are a little misleading. I love the idea , might need to work a little on the details . The entrance is really dingy and the bed wasn’t terribly comfortable but the bathroom was , by comparison, very nice . Not for over 40’s when a good bed is more important but reasonable for the price .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such fake hospitality service. I stayed there a month ago. I noticed after check out, that I forgot an item in our room. Until now the receptionists have been ignoring my tries to contact them. That ruined my whole opinion on that hotel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rarely write a negative reviews, but feel I have to tell other travellers about my stay here. First of all the location is great, but the entrance is quite smelly of pee. The rest of the hotel is nice and good for the price you pay with nice bathrooms. The service however was horrible, we booked with breakfast but all of a sudden this was €5 extra per day per person. When we checked in we were also told they were flushing the AC system and that it will be working later that night (it was not particularly warm so not a problem at that time). The biggest problem was when we wanted to enter the room after a long day of walking in the city and hang the do not disturb sign as we did not have time to tidy the room. We found 3 men working on our ac without any notice, and were locked out of our room for some time. Making us unable to change for dinner, the hotel was very unapologetic, offered us a drink after walking away from their empty apology. We had however no opportunity to use a restroom or change before dinner. I would recommend taking an other hotel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location, very central, close to the metro and with friendly and helpful staff.
I stayed in three different rooms here, and my experience depended heavily on which room I was in. Unfortunately, when booking, you can't tell them apart and the prices are the same.
Two of them were on the inside of the building, with very little natural light and a window that opened onto a tiny patio with AC units, almost like an air shaft. These rooms were quiet but dark, warm and stuffy. One of them was brand new and still smelled of paint.
The third room was on the square side. It was much brighter, with a great view, but it's much noisier if you have the window open, especially at night with Bairro Alto next door. Thankfully the windows block almost all noise when closed.
This hotel has some teething problems: apart from the strong smell of fresh paint, the elevator didn't work for a couple of days, and there was a problem with hot water one day. They had just started doing breakfast on my last day here. I agree with the other reviewer who describes the hotel as "shabby chic": lots of marble, fancy paint and woodwork, but not quite there yet. I'm sure that given a bit of time this will be an excellent hotel.
