★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some of the best sardines I've ever tried. Really meaty. The terrace of the restaurant is nice, although things in general are a bit pricey in comparison to other places nearby. However, definitely worth it!

While Portimao is generally not too attractive, this restaurant sits in a small time bubble that seems to have survived the eagerness to treat down and rebuild. The setting is picturesque, the food solid and local (grilled sardines, pork chops and the like) and the people genuinely authentic. Not many tourists when we came. If you look for something off the beaten track and ddifferent, then this is for you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place truly deserves 5 stars due to their service and quality of food. Even thought only 2 of 8 servers were able to speak English with us, they all understood our wishes perfectly. The swordfish steak with fried onions and tuna steak with baked tomato were the ‘catch of the day’ and both and a wonderful structure and great taste combinations with the vegetables. As a vegetarian I made a rule for myself that I only eat fish twice a year; on vacation at a suitable restaurant - believe me; it was worth it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every year, in summer, I visit this restaurant. The menu is great with various options focused on local cuisine. But the big star for me is the tuna belly, no words! Even my 1yr old love it. Staff is friendly and efficient. Lunch time is less busy, dinner after 8 you need a booking or to just persevere in the long queue. A most in Portimão old centre!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Found this place via Google maps and we are very happy that we went. Lovely restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating on a quiet side street in the old town.
All of the waiting team were lovely, attentive and knowledgeable.
Ricardo gave us excellent recommendations which we followed and were glad we did! The scaled mackerel and Algarve salad to start was a particularly excellent recommendation.
The bread stew was also an unexpected star, particularly when paired with their incredible house peri peri oil. It took a few bites to acclimatise and then it was very moreish. It's like a British bread sauce, with way more flavour. Their grilled squid was perfect too.
Excellent food, good wine, great waiting team and lovely setting.
