Nelson met us as arranged in our booking. He took us to many different - non-tourist - areas of the city and explained the City and its growth and culture to us in several different fun ways. We also enjoyed his patience with our lack of knowledge about Porto and our many questions. He also included several fun food and drink stops and a great lunch. Our tour was a great success even though it rained much of the day. We encourage others to try WHTT's Porto day tour if you are in Porto.

The website mentions tours will not go ahead if there is only 1 person, but in this situation I was the only one and they still continued. My guide was Nelson and he was very knowledgeable and he knew how to share his knowledge without being the typical tour guide. I had a great experience in Porto with him and thanks to his tips I had another coupled of great days in Porto. Would highly recommend!
C	Claudia Gold on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We found this tour extremely frustrating to the point where I actually cut it short. Nelson gave more opinions than facts and we didn’t learn very much. I was hoping to learn more about Portuguese culture and history, and see different neighborhoods, but instead we mostly got unfounded and fairly right-wing political rants. We didn’t really want that and in the end it left us kind of upset. I was hoping for a more socially aware perspective given the emphasis on sustainability on the website. We felt condescended too and ignored. I ended the tour when his reasoning for rent control being bad was that fuel costs are high, that it was “just math,” and that I was not “looking at the big picture.” The fuel costs are high as part of climate policy. Meanwhile economists have been debating rent control for decades and it’s clearly not simply a closed case. That is a bigger picture… On top of that it felt unrehearsed and unprofessional. I wanted to be guided, but instead I got a lot of undirected rambling.

All the tours with this company were amazing. This was our first time in Portugal and we usually don’t work with tour companies but WHTT’s philosophy was very appealing to us. What sets WHTT apart is the guides. They are a group of very smart and socially aware guys. In Porto we had Bruno: a very likable guy who got out of his way to make sure we saw (and tasted) the authentic Porto. Bruno knows and cares a lot about his country. Take these tours. You will learn a lot from him.

We did the city tour - Bruno took us to his favourite places like hidden viewpoints , local eateries and beautiful city sights. We also went to the dinner tours and had a delicious dinner in Gaia and a great night out.
