★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had two octapus and one fish dishes for dinner; food, service and music were all excellent; highly recommend it. The prices are on the higher side but you pay for quality of food and experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small & intimate venue to watch Fado however get the feeling tourists are not welcomed by the Barman.
Always busy so once you get a beverage, stand back & enjoy the sounds.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ VERY DISAPPOINTING. I am a local, born and raised in Lisbon. I do gastronomic tours and I often 'send' my guests to this fado house, mentioning that they will have a true FADO experience far away from the touristy houses, where they try to take you, as much money as they can during the show. This was the memory and the experience i had a few years ago in one of my closest neighborhoods.
In fact i was wrong. This place lost his soul, respect and integrity and turn out to be greedy and rude. I was there a few days ago and i left completely disappointed and chocked.
They oblige you to consume what they decide to be acceptable for their show. They do it in a rude way. Not at all polite.
- Hello ! Can we seat, it's free - I asked when i arrived
- If you will consume yes - replies me the man (owner) behind the balcony while preparing several dished with cheese and ham.
They use other clients to make jokes in Portuguese, thinking that no one understands. Exemple: after another costumer rejected the dish with ham and cheese that was imposed on his table (said by the 'old' lady, owner, in Portuguese to a spanish boy that was with his 3 friends with a plate of cheese and bad quality ham): "You are not hungry neither don't you my beautiful boy? (toutching his face) But you behaved well ! You will eat anyway. And if you do not eat, there is no problem... you will pay. That is what is important. These gentlemans we have in front of us... are they clowns ? No... they are not clows! They are guitar players and they need to be payed... etc."
Someone told the lady that some clowns in the world earn more money in one month than her guitar players during a year ? But this is just a small sign of her prejudgements.
Anyway we ordered drinks and we wanted something smaller than that plate because we just finish lunch (it was 4pm) but the lady reply to us: 'C'mon ! It's just 7.50 euros per person ! It is not to much !'" "But it s not a question of money, i replied, we are not hungry immediately. Give us a bit more time. Or serve us something smaller, like pastel de bacalhau". The reply was that we need to consume the plate if we wanted to stay.
I was with another person, both portuguese so we could understand everything very well, and yet, the lady didn't refrain her attitude.
It's decadent and depressive all this dynamics, if you perceive it.
I will certainly never send any guest to Tasca do Jaime again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was recommended to me by a friend who is from Lisbon. It was by far the most magical dining experience I had in Lisbon in the two weeks I was here. Small, intimate, family run establishment with only six tables. The music was amazing and often throughout the evening locals from the neighborhood would stop by for a beer and engage in performance. Laura and Jaime serve with care and attention. They made us feel like family. This place will be at the top of my list for every future trip to Lisbon as well as recommended to any of my friends/family who plan to visit. Don't miss this place. It surpassed all expectations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Started off well, but felt like a scam by the end which ruined the experience for me. We were charged €56 euros for house wine in a jug, 2 plates of just cheese and bread and 2 small bottles of water. This is more than when we had a proper dinner at a restaurant. No idea how this could cost so much. Would rather just pay to see Fado than feel ripped off. We were pressured to buy CD also. Friendly but didn't feel genuine unfortunately...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my first experience listening to fado and although I didn't understand the language, it was beautiful. Especially when it brings tears to your eyes. The owners were very sweet and even gave us a kiss on the cheek when she left. The food was awesome as well as the green wine and the singers were amazing. ??????
