G	Graham Mackie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ we asked a Taxi driver to take us to the old town, and instead he told us for a really authentic night we should go here... we took him at his word, but it was a scam and the taxi driver got a kickback from the resteraunt for bringing us in. later on in the same night the taxi driver was back, performing the Fado music!!! other reviews about overpricing are correct, avoid unless you're very rich and also do not like food.

Loved the historic character, the fado musicians and singers were very charming, and the food was good, too. The staff were wonderful, great service. Don’t mind all of the 1-star reviews!!!

Owner was super nice, serving us, greeting us, and then sung too. All the musicians were older and very experienced. You could tell they’ve been playing all their lives. Lovely place for an experience I’ll never forget. People who are complaining about the “fado performance” charge need to go eat at McDonald’s. What do they think music and art is free? Would they rather pay less for recorded music on a speaker? Down the road a few extra euros for a memorable experience is more than worth it.

We went by on a Wednesday (they’re open every night) and weren’t sure what to expect as we walked in after dinner and were one of the only tables. Nonetheless, the owner assured us they would perform with however many people were there. We were absolutely blown away by the performance. It was delivered with such passion and warmth. The owner was incredibly kind and joined in for part of the performance. There was a €6 charge for the show, which we didn’t realize at first, but it was well worth it. Would definitely come back!

What is more, they are charging for the starters that you have not even ordered (we were aware things like this in Lisboa) and extra for service! You pay for live music as well. If you ask about it, they will show you little board where you have information about extra payment. Honestly we had a feeling that we were robbed. To sum up, really bad food, even more bad service. DO NOT GO THERE!! Shame on you blonde lady who supposed to be an owner.

I would recommend this place if you want a chill night, where you can just sip on some wine and listen to great musicians. The staff were very nice and humble. They provided us with great service.
