★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arriving in Alvor and not sure what to eat, we decided to try Al Tapas after reading some reviews.
So glad we did, greeted by a nice man and sat by the door as it was a very hot night.
We had the couvert to start and then we chose 2 Tapas and one main paired with some nice Rose wine suggested by the very professional waiter.
The clams were amazing and delicious., followed by strips of sirloin steak and finally a monkfish rice with shrimps to die for.
The service was excellent and the timing of the food was perfect.
Very good value and for sure we will be returning soon.

Need to add a few things ...
The wine selection is of very good quality and you really get excellent guidance if you ask for. Compared to the quaility the prices of the vines are more then fair.
The tapas are country-specific and all ingredients are natural and of really good quality. In addition every tapa we tested was prepared on-point.
The atmosphere is very relaxed to spend an "unstressed" evening.
If we will be back in Portugal, this is the restaurant where we will definitely be again. We spent our "best" evenings there. We loved it, best tapa bar where we have ever been!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely Tapas restaurant in an off the beaten track where you can enjoy great tapas with the locals. Great service (no potatoes on the menu but it was organised for us). Great to know that in spite of many visits to Alvor there are still hidden treasures to find.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very good authentic little restaurant with great service, good tapas and a range of “petiscos”. Packed and deservedly so. Proving that somewhere can still be great quality and value even though only 100m from the tourist center of Alvor. The Garlic Shrimps and the Marinated beef were especially good, the wine selection at affordable prices, were excellent too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stumbled in here by accident, intending just to have a drink and then move on. We ended up eating three outstanding special tapas dishes, all prepared with meticulous care in a Table next to the street. Delicious wine recommendation, really welcoming, buzzy and busy but not overwhelmingly so. We loved it and returned to our hotel feeling we'd had a glorious evening and possibly eaten some of the best food in Alvor!
