★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed at the Alvor Baia end of May 2021. This is an all suites hotel and they really are spotlessly clean as is the whole hotel and the pool area. The pool is absolutely fabulous, it’s literally like a lake! The sun-beds around the pool aren't the most comfortable to lie on so maybe take something with you to make it a bit more plush if your tush requires. If you dont like noise dont take a pool view room as the very enthusiastic animation team are going non-stop. The suites all have kitchenettes with a microwave, fridge and stove but no electric kettle so take your own if you like a hot drink. The air conditioning in the rooms works really well and is nice and cool. The beds are ok. The only reason I wont give it 5 stars is the food which is pretty basic and very repetitive. There are a few supermarkets within walking distance to the resort. I would definitely return and maybe stay half board instead of all inclusive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visually the hotel is very nice, the pool is huge and well kept and the rooms are clean and tidy. Unfortunately I think that's where the good news ends. The double bed in my room while large and nice looking was like sleeping on a concrete slab. Also it was made of 2 single beds mashed together which leaves a hard raised Ridge in the middle. Also directly. Outside my bedroom was a very loud rattling ac unit which was irritating.
My biggest issue however lies with the food. I paid for all inusive so. I could take full advantage of the food and drink without any worries and was bitterly disappointed. The food was dire. Nothing was correctly seasoned if at all. Everything was over cooked and the selection was pretty much the same every day. It was a case of just eating to stay alive not eating and enjoying the experience. The desserts were nice but I suspect That's because they are bought in and not made there.
How ever I will note that while breakfast was the same every day they did offer a full English which was actually Eddible. Tho avoid the black pudding as it'll be dry as a biscuit and over cooked. The fruit is OK. I'd usually pig out on breakfast knowing the lunch and dinner would be a disappointment. For a hotel almost boasting 5 stars I found this to be a serious issue, The chefs need retraining. Or perhaps it's a budget issue??? Either way the food is not upto standard at all.
The drinks included in the all inclusive bar are average but drinkable. Nothing To fancy and there's about 8 to choose from. Not much in the way of. Children's drinks bar a couple of non alcoholic cocktails.
Entertainment was Decent and the over all atmosphere was nice but the food is a major let down. If you pay for all inclusive you want to actually enjoy what your eating and drinking not just tolerate it. When a 3 year old is refusing to eat the chicken nuggets because they are too hard that's a dead give away that there's a serious issue. I stayed for a week and the best meal I had was at the zoomarine all you can eat buffet. Which was infinatly Better than the food served here. In hind sight I'd of rather not paid for the all Inclusive and gone into town each night to find somewhere to eat but since I did pay for it I felt obliged to use it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed at this hotel for two weeks with my family, bad points of this hotel is food, same thing every day. And I found some of the staff come across very rude mainly in restaurant and few on reception.Around the pool could be very dirty as well.when we went there was two incidents with the guests with violence and found the security guards was useless and didn’t do anything to help. good points the entertainment was very good with different music playing live, cleaners around hotel work very hard to keep hotel clean and highly recommend, the taxi company door to door had a lovely couple working for them, very chatty and knowledgable with all our questions. All in all lovely hotel and massive pool great for kids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We love this hotel, we’ve been twice before. The food suits us, the rooms are large, clean and comfortable, pool is large, drinks are good and staff are friendly and competent.
Now the problem. The “Animation team” ruined our holiday. It’s the usual amateur singing and dancing which is a personal thing, you either like it or not, but this was at full volume and inescapable. Around the pool there is nowhere you can chill out and read, nap or talk whilst it is going on. We sat as far away as possible and it was still unbelievably loud. It starts early when you are “welcomed” to the pool area. In 4 languages. Ad nauseam. There are quizzes which are advertised 15 minutes early, in 4 languages, and then just before scheduled to start, in 4 languages. (you get the idea) Barely anyone takes part, maybe 4 people, but everyone has to hear the questions, and answers, at full volume. Music is played regularly, at varying volume, as though a child is in charge of the equipment, but then you get what seems to be one of the child’s favourite tracks at bowel loosening volume. The morning ends with being thanked for taking part in the activities, (nobody did) ad nauseam. The afternoon starts and we are welcomed to the pool, and so on . . . I suppose if you give a microphone to someone they eventually fall in love with the sound of their own voice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've had a fabulous holiday. The staff are amazing, rooms and hotel kept clean tidy and safe. Huge huge pool loads of sunbeds. Good choice of food and drink. Can't fault anything its grounds are lovely. Kids pool, play ground and separate dining room. 15 min walk to the harbour, bus to the beach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have been to this hotel twice now and will certainly go back. It's very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is plentiful with lots of choice. The Animation team work so hard and are all great fun. The pool is very cold (we went in October so it could be warmer perhaps in the summer months?) but massive so plenty of room for everyone. They now have outside toilets next to the pool so no having to go inside the hotel anymore (these are also kept very clean). My grandchildren loved this hotel and can't wait to have another holiday there. Well done to all working at the Alvor Baia, you're doing an amazing job!
