Dear Breakfast - Calçada de São Francisco 35
With a love for the idea of having brunch everyday, Julien Garrec opened the first Dear Breakfast outpost in August 2017 in the Sao Bento district of Lisbon. A welcome addition to the ever growing foodie hotspot list in this neighborhood which hosts the Time Out market.
Dear Breakfast mixes influences from international cultures with downtown Lisbon cool to create a concept aesthetically interesting, taste-bud stimulating, and decidedly healthy to boot. Inspired by the idea of developing egg-centric dishes paired with creative juices and cocktails, the Chefs Raquel Patronilho (ex Ritz Lisbon)and Steve Brown execute a seasonal menu of locally sourced ingredients whenever possible for an all-day breakfast.
Set over two levels, the restaurant has been dressed by architects Carlos Aragao and Joao Pombeiro Machado (Studio Astolfi), who smoothed out the existing exposed brick walls, build cement arches and add a giant mirror to the ceiling as a trompe l’oeil who marvels everyone who steps inside. Downstairs, a secret room will host on September the most intimate breakfast of the city. And despite the trendy downtown vibe, you won’t find any mason jars or refurbished whimsical objects atop your table : the design is clean and bright with white-washed walls and portuguese marble tables.
Sit on a comfy chairs, wake up at a leisurely speed to low-fi music on the sound system, and tuck into a delicious meal that may include our famous benedict, caramel and banana pancakes or the terrific scrambled eggs with truffles.
Dear Breakfast opened recently two new locations in Lisbon - Dear Breakfast Chiado - located in an iconic street where you can admire the ballet of the old tramways passing by. And Dear Breakfast Alfama - which sits on the most beautiful place of Lisbon, near by the Sé cathedral. Our kitchens are open for breakfast lovers from everywhere, every day, all day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great breakfast. My discerning son had the egg sandwich which he devoured. I had the brioche smoked salmon Benedict and it was excellent. Highly recommend this breakfast spot. Also great place for my 5yo to be entertained watching the trams.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cannot say enough great things about Dear Breakfast! The food was AMAZING-I had poached eggs and salmon on the biggest, tastiest piece of brioche I've ever seen in my entire life, and my husband had the fluffiest pancakes I've ever sampled. Also enjoyed a great green smoothie. Felt full and satisfied without being overly stuffed-I still felt good and healthy afterwards. Great service, great prices, great spot. Love it. Looking forward to coming back some day!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything was wonderful. Thankfully we had booked a table one week earlier because it was very busy. I got the Açaí bowl, some avocado toasts and the detox smoothie. I really relished every bite of my breakfast. Too bad we did not get to eat upstairs… more quiet and charming but, we have a good excuse to come back ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place with great service and delicious food. We tried the eggs and acai bowl and they were very good. Would recommend to get a reservation for the weekend, although we were able to get a walk in table, but had a wait a little while for it. Overall an amazing experience, will definitely be back

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is amazing. The staff is wonderful. We are visiting from America and had dined in one time, but when we came back a week later they remembered us! They even complimented my jacket. The food is spectacular. I tried both Benedict’s and each one was delicious. Fresh juice and perfect coffee. Highly recommend you try this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Having tried this location and the Alfama one I prefer this restaurant. Although smaller which invites a longer queue it feels more inviting, the staff were more friendly and the seating more comfortable. I ordered the eggs florentine which was wonderful apart from the fact that the toast was really crisp bread. If I had known that I would have ordered toast on the side. Nevertheless you live and learn. The ham and cheese croissant was perfect as was the banana bread. A little pricey but worth it for a treat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place for breakfast. My boyfriend and I went there three times in a row for breakfast. The pancakes were just heaven! Very gooey and fluffy, absolutely delightful. My boyfriend said his egg royals was also very tasty.
What’s more? The place was so bohemian, plants and white walls, just exactly how I like to decorate my place. It’s definitely a must try in Lisbon!!! The staff is very friendly and helpful, which is great for a start of the day!
