Since taking over ownership in March 2012, we have consistently refurbished and improved Maria’s every year. We are proud of our loyal following and we love to welcome both regular and new clients year on year. Maria’s is renowned for the unbeatable location, great food and buzzy laid back atmosphere. The Portuguese and English Partners Miguel and William have many years of restaurant experience and operate the restaurant along with a great team and the support of their wives Harriet and Angela behind the scenes. We are lucky to have a brilliant team working really hard to bring you a great all round experience. We cannot guarantee the weather but the Algarve is renowned for 360 days of sunshine per year! There’s no wonder it gets more and more popular every year, not just as a holiday destination but as a place to live permanently with many new families moving here over the past few years. The Algarve is buzzing.. and the season is getting longer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m giving a one star only for the ambience, else this would be a zero. Food was horrible and overpriced; frankly, the octopus tasted like rubber and the pasta was overcooked sloppy mush. Wish we could get our money back. Particularly for fellow international visitors who are looking to have a good meal, avoid at all costs.

We have been coming for years but after 2 disappointing visits will not be coming again. Many other restaurants with just as lovely views with much better food and service

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fantastic restaurant, it was unusually quiet due to the travel restrictions across Europe currently (June 2021) but service was brilliant, the food was amazing and so was the wine. The restaurant faces the beach so you have spectacular views, it makes for perfect ambiance and I would highly recommend visiting.
