S	Samuel Aleksanian on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good service and the food was great. Had the chicken and some mussels. Chicken is cooked on charcoal in front of you by the chef. It tasted great and was juicy inside. The Chef personally came over to ask if I was satisfied with the taste. All the staff was very courteous. Highly recommend going here.
A	Ann L on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is as local as it gets. Multi-decade old decor, style of cooking and serving. Waiter's have probably been here for 20-30 yrs. Right around the corner and is similiar to Bonjardim (but less packed?) My advice (as similar to Bonjardim) is: Don't expect or compare this to Nandos. This style of chicken was one of the basis of the Nandos chain, but it's not Nandos. The chicken here is rotisserie chicken, with fried chips - frozen packet chips. (Chips here are thicker than Bonjardim chips .. if you like thicker chips, then go here) Service: 5/5 excellent. Friendly staff. English speaking Food: 3/5 We ordered a whole chicken between us with chips. The chicken was well seasoned with crispy skin. Chicken was tender and falls off the bone, but the breast was quite dry. Strange butter and lemon basting came with it, which made it smell and taste a little off... We also tried "Cream spinach". The texture is like mash potatoes (but green) but tasted like too much flour was used to thicken it. Although it's a traditional side dish, I wouldn't recommend it. The peri peri oil (not sauce) is made in house, not very spicy for me. Not sure about the people on here claiming "best chicken I've ever eaten" .. cos it's literally coles/woolies/simple roast chicken (with butter lemon basting). So bonjardim or this place? For the authentic Portuguese chicken experience.. probs can't go wrong with either. However there are plenty other Portuguese meals to be had and if you're a nandos lover, skip this place. Chilli oil was a little more spicy at Bonjardim if that's anything to go off.

The food itself was inedible, tasteless chicken, cold fries, creamed spinach was like glue. The house white wine was more like sherry. Genuinely this is an awful restaurant. The only redeeming moment was when the waiter apologised at the end. Felt sorry for him but this is a restaurant to be avoided.

During the weekend the restaurant is bustling The service is impeccable and their prices are reasonable. We ordered their full chicken which was moist and flavorful even without the piri sauce. Green beans were delish and their mussels with pork was good, a little bit tough to eat. Extensive drink menu was great. Place is clean and overall great experience.
