A nossa História
O sonho de uma vida...
Em 30 de Março de 1995 nasceu o Restaurante "São Domingos" na Galé, Albufeira. Domingos Almeida tinha o sonho de ter um restaurante e Maria da Conceição acompanhou-o nesse projecto de uma vida.
Compraram um terreno por 400 contos (2.000€) em Abril de 1980 e com muito esforço construíram uma casa para a família. Na sua habitação familiar, uma vivenda com piscina, iniciaram esta aventura.
Começaram pela adaptação da garagem que depressa se tornou pequena para os apreciadores da excelente gastronomia desta casa. Depois da garagem, o restaurante alargou-se para a sala da vivenda e outros espaços até só restarem os quartos como habitação.
Actualmente o Restaurante "São Domingos" possui 4 salas, uma delas privada, e uma esplanada para desfrutar com todas as condições dos bons pratos desta cozinha de saber e paixão.
Embora já não seja uma casa de habitação, o São Domingos passou a ser a “casa” de muitos visitantes desta zona, que reconhecem neste restaurante um espaço familiar onde voltar, mais uma vez, é sempre motivo de alegria, prazer e satisfação do paladar.
Na última década, Rafael, o filho mais velho do casal São e Domingos, tem contribuído, com o seu talento e sabedoria, para que o restaurante dos progenitores seja um dos melhores do Algarve.

The only downside is the decoration of the room inside that looks a bit old and cold but I would recommend this restaurant!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food here was very well cooked and yummy, if a little bit fussy for our tastes. It was really Portuguese in style so we went for veal and octopus and weren’t disappointed. It was mostly the sides that were a little fussy (gratin and vegetables) although the service was really excellent (polite and helpful while unobtrusive) and the veal and octopus were both well seasoned and well cooked. The restaurant started filling up quite quickly and there were lots of families clearly tourists and Portuguese.

The grilled sole was very good, the olives and tuna cream as "couvert" was very good too as well as the vegetable soup. We forgot the time we spent there. Prices are surely above the average but it is worth it. Big wine card and knowledgeable waiters and the owner looking after the guests.

Friendly welcome, and accommodating of our well behaved dog.
We had rung ahead to book a table and asked for the outside table in the corner. Was all perfect. Beautiful fish dishes served to each of us - so fresh and really delicious.
Also a lovely offering made to us at the end of the meal... maybe we were as well behaved as our dog ?
Would go again if had longer here, and highly recommend!
