À entrada de Cascais somos recebidos por um dos restaurantes mais emblemáticos da região, o Visconde da Luz, localizado num frondoso jardim com o mesmo nome. Fundado há mais de trinta anos, em 1976, o restaurante Visconde da Luz, pode orgulhar-se da sua história e serviço requintado, que é reconhecido pelos clientes de longa data.

Das iguarias que se servem e que fazem jus à qualidade deste restaurante salientam-se os pratos tradicionais com especial destaque Linguado de Cascais, Robalo ao Sal ,Cataplana de Marisco , Arroz de Marisco e Açorda de Marisco. I assume with a smaller group or family the experience would be even better. Had the best fish I experienced during my short stay in Portugal (visited few small and very nice restaurants as well).

The staff were friendly and flexible, it was a delight to eat there. I heartily recommend them to both locals (we are recent transplants from Los Angeles) and visitors (our dining companions were from Florida). I sampled many of the other dishes at the table, and it was nearly impossible to pick a favourite. The vegetable accompaniments (haricots verts, carrots, potatoes) were perfectly simple, and simply perfect. And they nailed the crust on the queijada de Sintra, which is no mean feat. My photo doesn't -- can't -- do the food justice. By all means, go there and try it for yourself. You can thank me later.
