★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fresh seafood, French style cooking, local feel, nice wine list, reasonably priced, really cute inside. Very quiet area with not much else around & unassuming exterior. Definitely recommend!! Although if you’re looking for traditional Portuguese cuisine, this is not really it ;) other reviews have mentioned wait time. It is a mom & pop chef-owner place, very small, everything made to order, so yes, you will wait more than fast food but it is not unreasonable. Worth it for the quality, and they provide nice service as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a nice surprise. I was invited here today by friends on a glorious April day for lunch. Hidden in a neighborhood outside the wall of Lagos I was surprised by this lovely place. The food was excellent. Well prepared with the essence of France. Everything fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and delightful. I was very happy to have been introduced to such a local treasure. I would definitely go again. You should definitely put this on your list.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dinner was very very good - for me, it was the Best Restaurant in Portugal on Our Trip! The two owners are very kind and lovely. Restaurant is little bit hided between houses. Prices are totally okay for that quality!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As always our night at Vista Alegre was phenomenal. We have been to this charming restaurant several times now and the dishes have never disappointed us and are truly impeccable. Vista Alegre is run by a charismatic and incredibly friendly French/Portuguese couple. One of the best restaurants we have been to in the area. Price and quality are incomparable to any other. A true gem hidden in Lagos. Also open for lunch.
Pictures are of the plates, Skate fish and Tournedos Rossini, Salade Lyonese and Sole.
The moules marinières (mussels cooked in cream), Lyonese salad (fried chicken livers with bacon and half boiled egg) and the Sole fish are also very good.
