I was a couple of hours to early for my booking. With other providers as Sixt, Europcar, Starcars it was never a problem to pick up earlier and pay a day extra so. The confirmed that they have cars even but refused to check out earlier as the want to force me for a new expensive booking. And also the agent was rude! So I had to come back in the night to get my car. Very sad experience. I can’t recommend Hertz company for a rental car booking. I worked myself at Airport Munich as a rental car manager, mistakes can happen but this looks like organized rip of if customers who are in a currently difficult situation.

Obrigado to the nice gentleman that handled our reservation. We were early due to flight change and I had some stomach ache. Without any issues he changed our reservation and set the highway system for us. Put yourself in their position, working hard all day dealing with all kind of people and problems. Being friendly will surely be appreciated.

The car return area is very busy so go early. If you get nervous in multi-story car parks...cross your fingers ? other than that I would say a typically great experience renting from Hertz - friendly staff and a fair price (booked online).

Deserve 0 stars. The car I had ALREADY paid was not available because I had not picked it up at the pick up time. Apparently it's in the terms and conditions, doesn't matter if your flight is delayed or whatever. To add insults to injury, I waited 50mn in line because not only they are crooks but they are extremely slow. They are also cowards and LIARS, claiming I should talk to "booking" when they are the ones unable to provide a service I had paid for (in fact my reservation was still valid with booking so it was canceled by Hertz, not booking). I lost my money, my time and ended up without a car. Shame on these rental companies: they compare picking up to checking for a flight or a train (as if I was sharing my car and needed a pilot?). If anything, it's like a hotel room: imagine that if you check in at 9PM, they tell you that your room is not available anymore because the checkin time is 3PM? Pathetic. Hertz company with his absurd conditions (who allow them to say it's a no show if you are 1mn late) can go to hell and the disgraceful employee who lied to me too.

We rented our car here a month ago and did not have to wait very long. The lady helped us out great and speaks English very well. The car was almost new (Β±2200km) and when returning everything went smoothly also. A quick check and signature and no surprises. I was a bit confused because before we went I read the reviews here but clearly things changed. However I can imagine that the wait can be longer if it is really busy, when people book last minute and their credit card is being maxed out because the reservation needed and solving that on the spot. Happened to us and someone next to us, because the cc needs to be in the name of the booker of the car. Just good to know ?

Horrible. Fraudulent. Rude. Showed up to rent a car here, and upon arriving they tell me they don't have the car I've reserved. No apologies, just a rude tone that they ran out of cars. They try to upcharge me into renting a different car at three times the cost. They tell you will get a refund, but then do not issue it, and are a nightmare to deal with over the phone. If you want to show up to no car, and still be charged, then go to Hertz/Thrifty.

Pickup was fast, return was fast. I don’t fall for buying their expensive insurance but they did make me leave a 1,000 euro deposit on my card because of that. (I had 3rd party insurance incase) My advertised rate was 27 euro per day for 3 days but all of the young driver fees made it about 70 euro per day so I feel the pricing was misleading.

Summary: Fraudulent behaviour, costing double the advertised price and no timely reaction from their customer support. Details: I was shortly before they closed at the counter. Even though I had insurance already, I was coerced into getting it again. I tried to block a specific amount on the credit card. Both my credit cards didn't work with their terminal. An alternative method which they allegedly are not allowed to use did however, but according to the manager they cannot do it without insurance. Additionally, they refused to call their IT support because it was at the weekend. Finally I called credit card company who said that there wasn't even a booking in their system from hertz. Checking, I had more than enough balance for the deposit on both of the credit cards. It was midnight and they wanted to close and said that is the only way i can get a car which i was required to do. Never go there and pick another of the many car rental options in the airport. Edit: Even though I got a public response from hertz below, writing them to the email address didn't result into any answer whatsoever within a week. I was charged the additional insurance amount and thus did pay about double the price which was originally negotiated.
